Meet the Team

Roy is a senior consultant with Almary Green and has been in the Financial Services industry since 1991. He has been an independent adviser for around 7 years providing advice on a wide range of issues to businesses and individuals, and is a pension transfer specialist.

Roy was one of the very first advisers in the UK to achieve Chartered Financial Planner status; this prestigious award is the highest attainable within the financial services industry.

Roy obtained Resolution accreditation from the Law Society in October 2007 having previously been a pensions and divorce specialist at a national firm of Financial Accountants.

Alison joined Almary Green as an adviser in June 2003 and has been in Financial Services since 1984 in various guises.  Alison has a portfolio of clients from both the private and corporate sectors, advising on a wide range of protection, pension and investment needs. 

In a male dominated profession she is finding that it is not just female investors who prefer to consult a female adviser and believes that it’s clear that a woman’s inherent caring qualities makes her ideally suited to act as a confidante and counsellor.

Outside of work Alison enjoys painting and decorating much to her husband’s delight.  For exercise she forces herself to go swimming at least once a week.  She has no children other than four legged furry ones and enjoys reading any novel that involves murder, mystery and pathology.

Peter and his wife Jackie joined Almary Green in October 2009, from Hopkinson Financial Consultancy which they set up in 1995.

Peter brings a wealth of Corporate experience from senior Accountancy and Marketing roles with Cadburys, Bassetts and Norwich and Websters Breweries. He holds the G60 pension qualification and specialises in financial and investment advice for employers and business owners, particularly regarding company pension schemes; and investment and retirement planning for individuals.

He will continue supporting and advising his existing clients and will look to work with new clients, especially in north, mid and west Norfolk.

Peter devotes his spare time to league squash, coastal walks, and good food and wine.

Russell joined Almary Green in 2008.  He specialises in providing advice to clients at or post retirement. His particular areas of expertise lie in the provision of investment planning solutions, inheritance tax mitigation, trust work and long term care funding advice.

The majority of his clients are derived from large corporate connections and introductions from a number of solicitors with whom Russell has worked alongside for many years.  He is one of the most qualified individuals in the industry being a Chartered Financial Planner and a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

He is married with two young children and is a keen squash player.

Hayley joined Almary Green in 2009 and has been an independent financial adviser since 2004.  She has worked in various guises in the financial services industry since graduating from the University of East Anglia with a 1st class honours degree in 1999.

Hayley has continued to study hard since then and is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, the highest possible level of qualification for a financial adviser.  She holds specialist qualifications in the areas of care fees planning and pensions and retirement advice, including the AF3 (previously G60) qualification.

When Hayley is not working or studying she enjoys spending time with her husband either at home with their pet fish or away travelling.  She is a great lover of literature, music and most foods that she can eat.  If she has any energy left, Hayley also enjoys walking (especially at the coast) and any exercise class that involves donning boxing gloves!

James has been a financial adviser since 1998,  the last 7 years being as an Independent Financial Adviser, with a client portfolio incorporating both personal and corporate clients.

After being a partner in his previous company James chose to join Almary Green due to their emphasis on high level qualifications and wealth of expertise in specific areas of financial planning. Bringing his clients with him he continues to provide truly independent advice. James holds the Certificate in Financial Planning and is currently studying to achieve Chartered status.

He continues to look after the financial requirements of his clients on a wide range of investment, pension and protection needs and is happy to work with any new clients who require assistance in these areas.

Outside of work James enjoys travelling and most sporting activities - with the emphasis currently being on snowboarding and golf after dropping 10 shots from his handicap last season, ultimately aiming for the illusive single figure handicap.

Neil joined Almary Green in 2007 and has over 19 years experience in Financial Services, starting at a large local insurance company where he was employed for 11 years. He has worked for the independent financial adviser arms of a national solicitors practice and a large accountancy firm, as well as another local independent financial adviser company.

He has gained various industry recognised qualifications including the G60 pension exam and achieved the Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip PFS).

Neil is married with 2 young children who take up most of his spare time! He is a keen follower of sport, especially football and cricket, and is a “developing” golfer.

Gala joined Almary Green in April 2007 and has over 10 years experience of working within the financial services sector.

Gala has gained the PFS (Cert) qualification and is currently studying for the mortgage advice qualification.

Outside office hours she enjoys hosting dinner parties and is a passionate tennis fan.

Louisa has worked in administration for 18 years, joining Almary Green in August 2008 as Personal Assistant to Carl.

She is married with a young son.

Justin has over 10 years experience of working in the Financial Services Sector in varying roles. He has passed the full Financial Planning Certificate and also holds the Mortgage Advice Qualification (MAQ) & the Equity Release Certificate (ER1).

Justin lives in Norwich with his wife and 2 cats. Outside of work he enjoys most sports, especially football; being a keen supporter of Liverpool FC.

Jason joined Almary Green at the start of March 2010. He has over two years experience in the financial services industry and holds the financial planning certificate, currently working towards the diploma.

Jason looks after administration for James Harrison and Peter Hopkinson.
