A team of dedicated runners from Almary Green have used running to raise funds to increase awareness of Cardiomyopathy following the untimely death of a colleague as a result of the disease.
Their fundraising was dedicated to the memory of Mark Ring who sadly died in 2016. Mark was a regular runner in events held both locally, nationally and internationally, including the London Marathon.
Team members Kelly-Marie Loftus, Jerry Ware, Rick Moore, Jim Duvall, Tom Clarke and Maree Marks ran in a number of 10K and half marathon events during 2018, including the Snowdonia Trail Half Marathon and Run Norwich, raising money through sponsorship. Other fundraising events included a quiz and a bake sale. They were supported by colleagues across the Smith & Pinching Group as well as clients, professional contacts, friends and families.
Danielle Devine, Challenge Events Fundraiser from Cardiomyopathy UK congratulated the team. In an email, she said “Huge congratulations on your fundraising so far, that’s amazing – honestly we can’t thank you enough for all the hard work and effort you are putting in to support the charity!”
The team were proud to receive an email from JustGiving in the New Year reporting that they were in the top 5% of fundraisers for December 2018.
